EISCO conferences have become a major event for politicians and experts working at local and regional level to discuss e-Government and Information Society strategies. Representatives of the open source initiative PloneGov have been invited to share their experience in developing international collaboration and sharing open source software between public organizations worldwide.

The 7th European Information Society Conference EISCO 2008, "Local networks and inter-regional cooperation", will take place next September in Naples, Italy. The conference goals are to evaluate achievements in reducing the digital divide, exchange experiences and learn from each other. Representatives of the PloneGov initiative have been invited to participate in the session entitled "building digital capacity in local administrations".
